CWBI General Assembly 2025

In May 2025, official representatives from 13 Clowns Without Borders chapters gathered for the General Assembly in Munich, Germany. The chapters present were:
Belgium · Brazil · Canada · Finland · France · Germany · India (online) · South Africa · Spain · Sweden · Switzerland · United Kingdom · United States

The General Assembly is held in person every two years (and online in the years between). It is an important moment for CWBI as it serves as a platform to reflect on shared goals, strengthen collaboration and support between chapters, and envision possible future directions.

This year’s three-day gathering included workshops and ice-breaking activities — valuable, since many participants had never met in person before, or only online. CWBI was intentional about creating an inclusive space, considering the many languages within our network, our varied experiences, and the “beautiful palette” they bring when woven together.

The GA is a chance for members to set the agenda, raise concerns, share successes, and explore challenges in depth with peers from around the world. Alongside the discussions, participants also enjoyed regional cultural experiences — including jodeling — and a magical performance by CWBI members.

We were honored to hear from Louise Frisk, former President of Clowns Without Borders Sweden, who shared her perspective on the global shifts affecting NGOs and humanitarian aid.
