In August 2015, Clowns Without Borders USA went to Kenya, precisely to the Kakuma Refugee Camp. More than half of the new arrivals are children. In 2014, 7,298 children arrived to Kakuma unaccompanied or separated from their parents. While the majority of refugees are from South Sudan, Sudan and Somalia, people from Ethiopia, D.R. Congo, Burundi, Rwanda, Eritrea and Uganda also live in Kakuma. Our team of 4 artists did 18 days of performances and workshops for children and their families throughout the camp.
