Summary

On the 26th of February 1993, Clowns Without Borders Spain did the first Clowns Without Borders mission. The artists performed in the Refugee Camp of Veli Joze, in the peninsula of Istria. The utility of circus and the art of laughter with a refugee population was clear in the response of the children at Veli Joze. It was decided to make a second journey with a group of jugglers who performed two months later. On this trip, they laid the foundations for creating an organization to help performing artists to repeat these experiences - doing shows for people who are in conditions of crisis, especially children, without earning any money, as the children from School "Projecte" had initially asked.
